The project is the Berks Road Bridge Replacement over Tributary to Plum Creek. Sealed bids are solicited from qualified bidders for the replacement work. The County of Berks reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof and/or waive any informality in any bid received when such action is in the best interest of the County. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in the specified amount and form. Bidders may obtain the package either by downloading it from the County's website or by calling the County's Purchasing Department. All requests for clarifications must be in writing and received by the County of Berks by 5:00 PM on March 10 th , 2026. All clarifications, modifications and corrections to the Bid Documents shall be issued in the form of Addenda and shall be forwarded to all known Bidders. ummary This project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing Berks Road bridge that carries Berks Road over an unnamed tributary to Plum Creek. The existing structure is to be replaced with a culvert, additional approach roadway work to be included as a part of this project. The bridge is located in and owned by Berks County. The following is included as part of this contract: • The scope of work at this location consists of the removal of the existing bridge and replacement with a cast in-place culvert. A temporary stream crossing upstream of the work site will be utilized to provide alternative access during construction. Roadway approach work including the installation of guide rail will also be performed. Access to Camp Joy must be maintained at all times. Property owners must be notified prior to any work to be done on their property to coordinate necessary access requirements. The County shall be notified prior to any coordination with property owners and copied on all correspondence.
