The work of this Contract consists of the Rehabilitation of Runway 11-29 and Airport Terminal Parking Lot. The intent of the contract is to provide for construction and completion, in every detail, of the work described. It is further intended that the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies required to complete the work in accordance with the plans, specifications, and terms of the contract. The work of this contract is located in the City of Stratford. Details of the project are presented in plans and specifications that have been prepared by CHA Project No. 056200. The project site is located at the BDR airport at 1000 Great Meadow Road in Stratford, Connecticut. The project site consists of two intersecting runways: Runway 6-24 which has a northeast to southwest alignment, and Runway 11-29 which has an east to west alignment. Great Meadow Road is located in the western portion of the site and provides access to terminal parking lots and airport facilities. The site perimeter is bound by salt marshes to the northwest, west, south and southeast; by commercial property to the north; by commercial and residential property to the southeast; and by commercial property and Main Street/Stratford Road to the east and northeast. The salt marshes along the perimeter hold water subject to tidal water levels. The site grades are relatively level with surface elevations ranging from El. 1 to 19.5 feet. Surface elevations along Runway 11-29 range from El. 4.5 to 8 feet. Surface elevations along Great Meadow Road and the terminal parking lots range from El. 6 to 11 feet. Photographs of the site are included in Appendix A. The project consists of pavement rehabilitation for Runway 11-29, Great Meadow Road, and the terminal parking lots. The pavement rehabilitation will generally consist of mill and overlay of existing pavements along the runway, taxiway, and the parking lots. The runway pavement and will be designed in accordance with the FAA guidance AC No: 150/5320-6G. The project site is shown on drawing B.1.01 - Boring Location Plan.
