Bid Guarantee Bid Proposals Must Be Accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond in the Amount of a Ten Percent (10%) of the Bid Price but Not in Excess of $20,000.00 and Made Payable to the County of Mercer. If Bids Are to Be Submitted Electronically in Accord With This Notice, Then the Bidder Shall Submit a Copy of the Bid Guarantee With Electronic Submittal, and Mail (Ensuring Receipt Prior to Electronic Bid Opening) the Original to the Department of Purchasing, 640 S. Broad Street, Room 321, Trenton, New Jersey 08611. Bidders Are Required to Comply With the Requirements of N.j.s.a.10:5-31 Et Seq. And N.j.a.c. 17:27-1 Et Seq. County of Mercer, New Jersey Purchasing Department 609 989 6710 The work to be performed under this contract includes, at a minimum o The demolition and removal of the existing deck and floor beams, the removal, restoration and resetting of the truss members, and removal of the substructure, including all appurtenances to the extents shown on the Demolition Plan (Construction Plans Sheet 40) The substructure demolition and removal will include the complete removal of all existing and previous abutments and foundations, whether shown on the plans or not. The existing masonry block will be cut for a stone veneer on the proposed abutments and pier. Any existing piles that interfere with proposed pile locations are to be removed completely in accordance with the plans. o The construction of a temporary cofferdam and maintaining stream flow shall be in accordance with Section 501 of the Specifications. During removal operations, temporary shielding shall be used to prevent material from falling into the lake. Temporary turbidity barriers shall be installed in the lake to control downstream turbidity and to allow for dewatering of the work area and installation of the piles and precast concrete abutments and veneer. o Structural work includes, at a minimum , the installation of steel piles, installation of steel sheeting, construction of precast and cast in place concrete abutments (including wingwalls), removal, restoration and resetting the truss members, structural steel erection, installation of a cast in place concrete deck (performed in sections due to the two span continuous girders), concrete approach slabs, concrete bridge pylons, 3-bar open steel bridge railings, and a polyester polymer concrete overlay. The work will also include the construction of a pedestrian structure consisting of a concrete deck on steel girders placed on a substructure common to the vehicular bridge. o Roadway work includes hot mix asphalt paving, new striping, new guiderail and approach guiderail systems, excavation, drainage, topsoiling, and seeding. o Work will include the installation of a temporary pedestrian crossing of the lake with approaches meeting ADA requirements from the existing sidewalks to the crossing. o Work will also include restoration and regrading of the D&R Greenway Trail.
