Tree Planting, Various Parks. Bidders are notified that bid deposits must be 5 percent of the bid, in the form of a bid bond, certified check, treasurer’s check, or cashier’s check, made payable to the City of Boston. The workforce requirements for the contract are: Minority, 40 percent; Boston Resident, 51 percent; Female, 12 percent. The successful bidder will be required to provide insurance for the payment of compensation and other benefits under the Workmen’s Compensation Law, chapter 152, to all persons employed under the contract, with sufficient proof required before commencing performance. A performance bond and a labor and materials or payment bond, each of a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth and satisfactory to the Commissioner, in the sum of 100 percent of the contract price, as well as certain public liability and property damage insurance, will be required of the successful general contractor.
