In order to be eligible to submit a bid, the prospective bidder must register and receive the bidding documents directly from the Engineer.** The project consists of three separate contracts: Contract D: County Road 9 District Water Meter Installation; Contract E: Town Tank and Smith Hill Tank Upgrades; Contract F: Spring Generator Replacement. The bid form is divided into separate contracts based on the type of work to be performed. Bidders have the option to bid on one contract, multiple contracts, or all contracts. The Town of West Blocton seeks to improve the water system and has obtained funding through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF #FS010192-02) American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) through the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). Compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations are required. The estimate for this project is $750k - $900k. With a breakdown by contract of: Contract D: $100k - $150k Contract E: $500k - $550k Contract F: $150k - $200k Bidders must purchase at minimum the digital plans and specifications. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, proof of insurance, and a complete list of subcontractors and suppliers will be required prior to the signing of the Contract. No bids will be considered unless the bidder is properly qualified to submit a bid for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This includes holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. Non-resident corporations must show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in Alabama. The bidder's current license number must be clearly displayed on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the bid is delivered. Bids must also be clearly identified on the exterior of the package with the bidder's name, address, the project name, and time and place of bid opening. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technical errors if the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
