Qualified contractors are invited to bid on grading, infiltration chamber installation, and drain pan installation at the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) South Fork facility located at 124 Wharton Drive, South Fork CO 81154. This project is designed to carry stormwater into an underground infiltration chamber on CDOT property and route overflow to the adjacent County property. The project consists of demolishing portions of existing asphalt and concrete drain pans, regrading a portion of the site, installation of the infiltration chamber, and installation of new concrete drain pans. It also entails installation of subsurface conveyance piping, four new stormwater inlets, replacement of sections of asphalt paving, and seeding unpaved areas of ground disturbance. All work shall be conducted in accordance with the design drawings and project specifications. The project has a small potential to encounter petroleum products or hazardous materials. If known or suspect contaminated soils or groundwater is encountered during project excavation, the Contractor shall immediately halt work at that location and the CDOT Property Management Environmental Specialist shall be contacted: David Mendel (720) 642-0537. If necessary, special handling procedures, as outlined in Section 250 of CDOT's Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, shall be implemented as directed by the CDOT Property Management Environmental Specialist and shall be paid for as a change order to the project.
