The City of St. George is requesting bids for the complete installation of a new energy-efficient LED sports lighting system for seven softball fields. Bidders are required to submit a completed bid schedule, a list of major subcontractors, a bid bond, and a proposed construction schedule. Additional information may be submitted if needed. Bids will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder as determined by the City using the criteria in City ordinances governing the award of contracts. The City reserves the right to reject any or all submissions or to waive any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the city. Deadline to submit Questions Feb 10th 2026, 2:00 PM MST A. Scope of work includes complete turnkey installation of new sports LED lighting system for softball/baseball fields reusing existing poles. Contractor is responsible for removing the existing cages/cross arms of existing poles and make any modifications to existing poles that is necessary for new cross arm/fixture head and remote driver installation. B. The purpose of these specifications is to define the lighting system performance and design standards for City of St George Canyons Softball Complex using an LED Lighting source. The manufacturer/contractor shall supply lighting equipment to meet or exceed the standards set forth in these specifications. C. The Sports Lighting will be for the following Venues: 1. Softball Fields D. LIGHTING PERFORMANCE: Performance Requirements: Playing surfaces shall be lit to an average constant light level and uniformity as specified in the chart below. Light levels shall be held constant during warranty period. Lighting calculations shall be developed, and field measurements taken on the grid spacing with the minimum number of grid points specified below. Measured average illumination level shall be +/- 10% of predicted mean in accordance with IESNA RP-6-01, and measured at the first 100 hours of operation. 1. Designs shall be in accordance with the latest version ANSI/IES RP-6 Recommended Practice: Lighting Sports and Recreational Areas. This shall include light levels, pole locations, heights, and fixture mounting heights for proper fixture aiming angles for reduced glare and improved playability. 2. The calculated horizontal average-maintained illuminance level for each primary playing area shall be as follows. Illumination Levels and Design Factors: Illumination levels to meet target values listed in the chart below. 3. Color Temperature: The lighting system shall have a color temperature of 5700K and minimum CRI of 75. 4. Playability: Lighting design should be optimized for playability by reducing glare on field and providing sufficient uplight. 5. Aerial sports that are identified by ANSI/IES RP-6 shall have adequate illumination above the field to see the ball in flight. Include a minimum of 8% of on-field lumens aimed above the horizon
