The LIRR is requesting information from qualified manufacturers and suppliers regarding their capability to supply Aluminum Contact Third Rail and Aluminum End Approach products according to LIRR specifications and drawings. Respondents are also invited to provide recommendations for alternate approaches that maintain the desired function while improving safety, cost, reliability, installation time, and equipment compatibility. This process is strictly for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation, request for bids, or proposals, nor does it guarantee a future contract. Responses will inform LIRR's future requirements and potential solicitation packages. Interested firms should submit an Information Letter that includes: a Letter of Introduction with company and contact information, a description and brief history of the company (including business structure), current organization chart, years in business, relevant experience, typical fabrication duration, and references. Responses will not be evaluated or ranked and are for LIRR’s use in refining specifications and designs. Submissions must be clearly labeled with the RFEI number and sent as specified in the instructions. Firms are recommended to participate if they may wish to bid on any subsequent procurement. If a respondent’s submission contains proprietary information, it should be clearly marked as confidential. Submission is informational only; no compensation will be provided, and participation is not a guarantee of selection for any future opportunities. Firms may need to comply with Equal Employment Opportunity and Buy America requirements if federal funds are used in any subsequent procurement.
