The work involves providing information on the capability to supply signal cables according to specified requirements. The objective is to identify manufacturers and suppliers capable of supplying signal cables in accordance with Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) specifications and drawings. The organization is also seeking recommendations for alternative approaches that maintain the desired function while improving safety, cost savings, reliability, installation time, and compatibility. Two specific types of cables are listed: (1) 2 conductor, 6 AWG, 37 strand, low smoke jacket per LIRR Spec. CSI-TW-103 & 103A Rev. 1 3/25/02, and (2) 2 conductor, 6 AWG, 37 strand, standard jacket per the same specification. Information is to be submitted in the form of a letter, including company information, experience, typical fabrication duration, and references. Responses are for information and planning purposes only and will not result in a contract award. No compensation will be provided for information submitted, which may be used to refine LIRR requirements.
