This project will establish an urgently needed state-of-the-art fireground training facility. Phase One of this project would include a concrete driving and training area and a 4-story training tower and burn building. The building would be designed to simulate one- and two-story homes, apartments and commercial buildings, offering realistic training environments. The burn building would offer live fire training. Additionally, the facility will include a pump/drafting pit, roof ventilation simulator, and forcible entry props. The building would also include some technical rescue components to allow in-house training on special emergency situations. Most importantly, having a Training Facility in Town would ensure that our crews can receive necessary basic and advanced training to do their job. It also supports our goal of maintaining an optimal insurance rating, potentially reducing premiums for Collierville residents. Phase Two would include a Classroom building to allow training of firefighters, including in-service training and Recruit School. The Building would have a classroom that could be divided into 2 rooms. The Classroom would also be designed to be used as the Town's Emergency Operations Center, if needed. The Building would include an office for Training Staff, restrooms with showers and lockers, and a storage area for training props and supplies. Phase Two would also include adding burn props to the training grounds, including a propane tank fire simulator and car fire simulator. Phase Three would provide a storage building for reserve apparatus, special response trailers, and training equipment. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
