Renovation of a military facility in Honolulu, Hawaii. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The requirement involves providing design-build services to execute the Generator Modernization project at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. The contractor shall furnish all personnel, equipment, supplies, supervision, and non-personal services needed to perform tasks outlined in Part 5 "Specific Tasks" of the PWS, including obtaining all necessary permits from Garrison and commercial entities. Work includes designing and constructing a reinforced concrete pad, performing electrical installation for the backup power system, disconnecting four government-owned generators, and installing and commissioning two 750 kW backup generators with all associated electrical infrastructure. The project also requires transporting and positioning four generators to specified locations, installing paralleling gear and automatic transfer switches, and integrating the new generators into the existing power infrastructure of Buildings 520 and 525. The contractor shall conduct system testing, commissioning, demolition, decommissioning, and ensure compliance with military and industry standards while coordinating with Army units and DPW for execution and closeout. The project consists of five primary task areas: site preparation, generator relocation and installation, system testing and commissioning, demolition and decommissioning, and project closeout and handover. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
