The work is for the Sespe and San Cayetano Kitchen Remodels, Fillmore School District Project #2026-007 (Sespe) and #2026-008 (San Cayetano). All bids must be submitted on District-provided forms to the Business Office of the Fillmore Unified School District. The contract period is 60 days. Bidders must consult the General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, and General Requirements regarding milestones and liquidated damages. All bid documents must strictly conform to the Contract Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by required forms of bidder's security valued at a minimum of 10% of the maximum bid amount, and successful bidders must provide 100% payment and performance bonds. All contractors and subcontractors must comply with prevailing wage requirements and submit certified payroll records as required. The project includes mechanical, electrical, or plumbing work, and related subcontractors must meet special prequalification requirements. Submission of a list of all designated subcontractors is required, and the District reserves rights to reject bids or waive irregularities. Strict adherence to bid delivery deadlines is required, as late bids will be returned unopened. No bid may be withdrawn for 90 days after the bid opening. No telephone or facsimile machine will be available for bidder use at District premises. Pre-qualification requirements for the project: Prequalification is mandatory for all bidders and MEP subcontractors as per California Public Contract Code sections 20111.5 and 20111.6. Contractors must submit prequalification documents through Quality Bidders and be approved at least 7 days prior to the bid opening. For Level 1 projects (under $500,000), contractors must have completed at least 3 public works contracts totaling $350,000 in the past 5 years and at least one similar school project as a prime contractor in the last 5 years. Bids will not be accepted from non-prequalified contractors or subcontractors. All bidders must possess a valid, active Class B California contractor's license at the time of bid and through the contract duration, and MEP subcontractors must hold and be prequalified for the appropriate licenses (A, C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, or C-46).
