Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Union City, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The project consists of rehabilitating parking lot pavement surface, base, and subbase in addition to the site drainage and its associated facilities, including installation of a new bioswale area. ADA improvements will be installed along with irrigation for new vegetation and trees. The parking lot perimeter will be brought up to standard and the entire project is subject to the most current Caltrans Standard Specifications and these special provisions. Bids are required for the entire work described. The contractor shall possess a Class A and/or Class C-12 California contractor's license. All of the project work is to be done in accordance with the bid package on file with the Public Works Department. Eligibility to bid requires the bid package to be electronically obtained from the City. Minimum wage rates as predetermined by the Secretary of Labor are set forth in the special provisions and must be adhered to, with the higher wage rates paid if there is a difference between state and federal requirements. All questions must be emailed to the provided contact at least five working days prior to bid opening. Where appropriate, the City may respond to such questions through procedures outlined in the Instructions to Bidders. Questions concerning the project must be submitted to Trieu Tran by email at TrieuT@unioncity.org at 2 PM on 18th Feb 2026. On the date of March 10, 2026, the City Council awarded the Project to the Contractor and directed City staff to send the Contractor written Notice of Award of the project.
