Sealed proposals are invited for furnishing all labor, tools, materials, and equipment required to construct SANITARY SEWER OUTFALL - SECTION I for Sanitary and Improvement District 639, Douglas County, Nebraska. The work consists essentially of the following estimated quantities: clearing and grubbing; clearing and grubbing trees over 9"; constructing 8" solid wall PVC sanitary sewer pipe; boring 16" steel casing with 8" PVC sanitary sewer pipe; constructing 54" I.D. sanitary manhole (outfall sewer) (7); tunneling siphon pipe (8" HDPE); constructing siphon inlet structure; constructing siphon outlet structure; constructing siphon cleanout pipe; constructing concrete manhole ring retainer; constructing 8" sanitary sewer manhole tap; constructing type B rip-rap for trench stabilization; installing BX1100 geogrid for trench stabilization; installing geotextile fabric for trench stabilization; constructing foundation rock (3" clean) for trench stabilization; installing external frame seal; stripping and re-spreading topsoil; installing NDOT seeding mix - Type B; installing United Seeds City/County/Rural mixture; installing silt fence; removing fence; constructing 48" chain link fence gate; constructing 4" aggregate surface course; on-site excavation; constructing 20' wide gate at NDOT ROW; and temporary traffic control. All proposals must be submitted on bid forms provided and accompanied by an original bid bond or certified check in the amount not less than $38,550 made payable to the Treasurer of the District as security that the bidder to whom the contract may be awarded will enter into a contract and furnish a contract and maintenance bond in the amount of 100% of the total contract price. All proposals must be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked "PROPOSAL FOR SANITARY SEWER OUTFALL - SECTION I" with the bidder's name and address. The bid security shall be in a separate sealed envelope attached to the proposal envelope and marked "BID SECURITY" with the project identified thereon. Proposals received after the specified time will be returned unopened. No bidder may withdraw a proposal for a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The awarding of the contract will be to the lowest acceptable responsible bidder in accordance with the requirements of the plans and specifications. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
