Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: Imhoff Tank Structure, Sludge Drying Beds, and Miscellaneous Site Interconnection Piping & Fencing. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid for those contracts that exceed $100,000. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Petrolia, Texas or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Not less than the federally determined prevailing wage rate must be paid on this project. The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. All contractors and subcontractors must be cleared (not suspended or debarred) prior to any formal action authorizing the award of a contract. Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, and Section 3 Businesses are encouraged to submit bids. This solicitation is for services related to a project subject to the Build America, Buy America Act requirements. All iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in this project must be produced in the United States. The City of Petrolia reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.
