Demolition, site work, new construction, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a medical facility.
Infrastructure upgrades are required at the Philadelphia VAMC campus to support the new Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) system. The contractor shall complete all construction work shown in the 100% bid design drawings, specifications, and project manual prepared by Health Facilities Solutions, including work in Buildings 1, 2, 3, 21, and 30. Upgrades encompass existing rooms and telecommunications closets and involve relocation, reconfiguration, expansion, and renovation with new walls, doors, finishes, and related improvements. Work shall comply with the VA Infrastructure Standard for Telecommunications Spaces (ISTS) V4.0 and incorporate requirements from the VA Physical Security Design and Resiliency Manual. Bid work includes general construction and associated trades, structural, mechanical and HVAC, plumbing and fire protection, electrical, information technology, and civil disciplines. All work will occur in occupied areas, and construction is only permitted between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. ET. Materials and equipment must be brought in after 5 p.m. and removed before 5 a.m., and all dust and debris must be cleared daily. Project phasing will be required because not all areas will be available concurrently. A site visit prior to bid is required to verify existing conditions. All work shall be completed within 730 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, and the CO and COR must be notified at least three days in advance of any potential adjustments to the period of performance.
