Sealed proposals are requested for materials and construction for the Town of Amherst Highway Department. The contract term for Sections 1-8 is from April 1 to March 31, and for Sections 9-16 from June 1 to March 31. Each bid section must be submitted in a separate opaque sealed envelope clearly marked with the company name, address, section bid, and contract name. Specifications for each section are available at the Office of the Superintendent of Highways. The project is divided into multiple sections covering both materials and construction. Sections 1-3 include aggregate material, plant mixed asphalt concrete, patching material hauling, liquid bituminous material, concrete building materials, grass seed, topsoil, ball diamond mixes, field materials, and engineered wood fiber for playgrounds. Sections 4-8 require a bid bond or certified check and cover planing and texturizing existing road surfaces, casual blacktop repair, road resurfacing, concrete sidewalks/driveways/curbing/ADA ramps, and road striping paint and epoxy. Sections 9-13 include pipe, fittings, geo-textile material, ADA warning tile, concrete blocks, precast concrete items, sign materials, traffic control equipment, and concrete building materials. Sections 14-16 require a bid bond or certified check and cover bike path and trailway rehabilitation, catch basin repair, and plant mixed concrete and controlled low strength materials. Bidders are instructed to comply with the outlined bid envelope requirements and can obtain full specifications from the Highway Superintendent's office during regular business hours.
