Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Lawrence, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work to be done under this contract includes: Installation of approximately 2,880 L.F. of 8"-24" restrained joint waterline by open cut and directional drilling. Work also includes installation of 2" waterline, valves, bends, tees, anchor couplings, service connections, fire hydrants, concrete pavement, sidewalk, access ramps, storm sewer, curb inlets, demolition and removals, erosion control, traffic control & all other work necessary to complete the project located along Learnard Ave. from 19th Street to 23rd Street in Lawrence, Kansas. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond no less than 5% of the amount of the bid made payable to the City of Lawrence, retained by the City Commission until a contract for the project shall have been awarded. The City uses Surety2000 for electronic bond validation. The Contractor agrees that the Contractor shall observe the provisions of the Kansas Act Against Discrimination and shall not discriminate against any person in the performance of work under the present contract because of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, national origin or ancestry. The Contractor shall in all solicitations or advertisements for employees include the phrase "equal opportunity employer." The Contractor agrees that if the Contractor fails to comply with the manner in which the Contractor reports to the Kansas Human Rights Commission ("Commission"), in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 44-1031 and amendments thereto, or violates Chapter 10 of the City Code, the Contractor shall be deemed to have breached the present contract and it may be canceled, terminated or suspended, in whole or in part, by the City. If the Contractor is found guilty of a violation of the Kansas Act Against Discrimination under a decision or order of the Commission which has become final, the Contractor shall be deemed to have breached the present contract and it may be canceled, terminated or suspended, in whole or in part, by the City. The City Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive informalities.
