The work consists principally of providing bonds, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the addition of the Phase V Dock Extension Structure between the South end of the existing APM Container Berth and the North End of the existing McDuffie No 3 berth. The work includes all required demolition and removal of existing marine structures within the Phase V Dock Extension limits of construction and indicated structures in the land area behind the Phase V Dock structure. The Phase V Dock structure will include, but is not limited to, steel pipe z piling, concrete piling, concrete work, crane rail installations, vessel fendering and mooring systems, crane and shore power requirements, electrical distribution, grading, drainage, lighting, and fencing requirements as indicated in the contract drawings and specifications. Bidder attendance at the Pre-Bid Meeting is mandatory. Access to the site for the visit following the meeting will require a TWIC card or Port Access Badge. Bidders without proper access credentials must contact the APA Project Manager at least one week in advance to arrange an escort; same-day escorts will not be provided. All escorted individuals must have valid state or federal identification. All vehicles entering APA properties require proof of registration and insurance. Sealed bid proposals must be delivered per the specified instructions. Faxed or electronically submitted bids will not be accepted. The Alabama Port Authority reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive informalities as necessary.
