Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a fire / police facility in El Nido, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a four-room fire / police facility.
In general, the project will develop a new three-bay fire station with four dorm rooms, kitchen, living spaces, and administration areas. Site improvements will consist of new paving for driveways, drive aisles, parking, concrete sidewalks, landscaping, irrigation, trash enclosure, flagpole, and signage. The existing fire station shall remain operational for the duration of construction. Construction phasing will be required for the demolition of the existing fire station to complete construction of the apparatus bay accessory spaces. No verbal, telegraphic, electronic mail, facsimile, or telephone proposals shall be considered. Proposals must be complete and for the entire work, materials, and improvements unless specified otherwise in the specifications. The DBE Goal is Zero, but the use of DBE firms is encouraged. All construction materials must comply with Build America Buy America (BABA) requirements. A mandatory pre-bid walk will be held at the project site. Bids from firms that do not attend will be deemed non-responsive. Contractors must possess either a Class A – General Engineering Contractor or Class B – General Building Contractor license at the time of bid and for the duration of the contract. Proposals must be accompanied by cash, cashier's check, certified check, or a bid bond equal to at least ten percent of the total bid amount, payable to the County. Insurance certificates and bonds as specified in the contract must be provided by the awarded contractor. Proposals must be made on the official forms, sealed, and clearly labeled. Each bid must separately state in figures the price for each item and provide a total contract price in words and figures. Quantities listed are approximate and the County reserves the right to adjust quantities as necessary. Proposals may not be withdrawn for sixty days after opening. The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive errors or informalities. Retention funds may be secured as specified under the Public Contracts Code. Contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and this project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations, with certified payroll records required. The contractor shall post job site notices as prescribed by regulation.
