Renovation of a mixed-use development in Kansas City, Missouri. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Prepares site conditions and provides architect-engineering design services to upgrade two interventional imaging procedure rooms to accommodate new high-cost medical equipment. Conducts site visits, field investigations, studies, and user interviews to develop detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates covering all required disciplines. Designs all architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related systems necessary to support installation of new Philips interventional imaging systems in rooms M2-470 and M2-469, ensuring full functional integration of all equipment components. Coordinates with Philips and Kansas City VA Medical Center representatives to meet equipment, performance, and installation requirements. Evaluates the existing HVAC system to determine suitability for supporting the new equipment and designs a replacement system if needed. Verifies electrical requirements and ensures structural support adequacy for all equipment. Assesses existing door lead lining for compliance with required shielding standards and incorporates compliant doors where necessary. Integrates solutions to address below-average condition steam convectors and obsolete controls. Ensures all required federal, state, and local permits and licenses for construction, installation, and operation are obtained. Provides design submissions at 35 percent, 65 percent, 95 percent, and final bid-ready documents in compliance with Infection Control and Interim Life Safety Measures requirements.
