Sealed proposals are invited for the MCDONNELL ELEMENTARY - NEW GYMNASIUM AND CLASSROOM RENOVATIONS. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Huntsville City Board of Education in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany proposals of $100,000 or more. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at Contract signing. The project is to be bid excluding taxes, pursuant to Act 2013-205. Bid documents (printed or digital) can be obtained after February 6, 2026. Digital copies are available via email request, and physical copies may be obtained from Datatek, 2108 Island Circle, Huntsville, AL, for a deposit of $400 per set, refundable under certain conditions. A Pre-Bid Conference and tour will be held at McDonnell Elementary School. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect. Bidders exceeding the threshold set by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must display their license number on the sealed bid envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if judged in the Owner's best interests. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
