The work includes the removal of existing curb/gutter, pavement, and subgrade, and the reconstruction of the roadway to include ditches, storm sewer, base course, pavement, and shouldering. The work extends from the east edge of Hope Drive to the east end of Love Lane. The approximate quantities for the major work items are: Remove Existing Roadway - 1,425 sq. yds.; Storm Sewer - 285 lineal feet; Base Course - 660 cu. yds.; Asphalt Pavement - 271 tons. Bids must be submitted on the official proposal form with a minimum 5% bid bond. The Village of Athens reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the bidding, and to award the contract in the best interest of the village. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of the bids. A performance bond and a payment bond, each for 100% of the total bid price, along with an executed agreement in the prescribed form, will be required from the successful bidder. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than three days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Furnish, install and maintain erosion control devices. 1. Install erosion control devices before construction begins 2. Provide as a minimum, erosion control devices installed at the locations designated on the Plans. 3. Provide additional number, type and location of erosion control devices needed to control erosion. The work is located on Love Lane from Hope Drive eastward. Work also includes installing storm sewer on adjacent lots. Village to obtain easement prior to construction.
