Site work for a water / sewer project in Allegan, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The County has one wooden watercraft launch dock on a metal frame and skids at each of the following three County Parks. 1.1.1 Gun Lake County Park, 2397 Patterson Rd, Wayland MI 49348. 1.1.2 New Richmond Bridge County Park, 3160 Old Allegan Rd, Fennville MI 49408. 1.1.3 Dumont Lake Watercraft Launch, 33rd St., Allegan Michigan 49010. Note: This address is not the same as the address for the park. The launch is at the end of 33rd St., on opposite side of the lake. Map of Dumont Lake Boat Launch. 1.2 In the fall, each skid dock is pulled from the water and left sitting on dry land adjacent to the boat launch ramp. They are pushed back into the water and installed every spring. Should Contractor find any discrepancies, omissions, ambiguities, or conflicts within the RFP packet, be in doubt about their meaning, or have any questions about the RFP process or the scope of work, they should bring such questions in writing to the attention of: Patti Wartella – Project Management Specialist Allegan County – County Services Building 3283 122nd Ave Allegan, MI 49010 projects@allegancounty.org General Conditions, Site Protection and Safety Requirements Contractor shall: 2.1.1 Secure, coordinate and pay for any necessary permits and inspections. 2.1.2 Shall sign and block off work areas from vehicular and pedestrian traffic while conducting work and remove temporary signs and barriers as soon as work activity is completed at each site. 2.1.3 Remove all debris and trash generated in performing the work under this agreement from the site and dispose of properly in a manner consistent with all applicable Local, State and Federal laws. Contractor shall not use County dumpsters for disposal. 2.1.4 Existing facilities, including but not limited to grounds, structures, vehicles, utilities, landscaping, fixtures, furnishings, equipment and surfaces and building systems in the vicinity of Contractor's work shall be protected by Contractor. Any damage to existing facilities shall be reported to the County on the day such damage occurs. Contractor shall promptly repair damage with like materials when ordered to do so by the County at Contractor's expense. All repairs of damage to existing facilities shall be made to the satisfaction of the County. Failure to repair damage shall be just cause for withholding payment for work, which becomes due. 2.1.5 Any damage of public or private property caused by the Contractor's operations shall be resolved with the property owner within ten days after damage occurs to the satisfaction of the County. The Contractor shall inform the County of any damage caused by the Contractor's operation on the day such damage occurs. Should the damage not be rectified within the time frame agreed upon or to the satisfaction of the County, the County reserves the right to repair or replace that which was damaged or assess the Contractor such cost as may be reasonable and related to damage caused by the Contractor.Dock Repair and Refurbishment Specifications For each skid dock, Contractor shall: 2.2.1 Remove the skid dock from its site as a whole or in parts. 2.2.2 After taking careful note of each skid dock's dimensions and construction, dismantle and properly dispose of all wooden skid dock parts leaving just the metal frame components. 2.2.3 Clean the steel frame components with appropriate tools and methods to remove all adhered scum, scale, grease, rust, and any other loose foreign materials from the metal to render the entire metal surface re-paintable with Rust Bullet Paint. Carefully inspect the frame components for cracks or other damage and make repair welds or otherwise repair as necessary. 2.2.5 Once the structural integrity of the frame components is restored, prepare the metal surface for painting and paint the frame components with two coats of black Rust Bullet Paint according to manufacturer's specifications. 2.2.6 Rebuild the skid docks to match the original construction using new Pressure Treated Critical Structure wood and new marine-grade type 316 or 304 stainless steel hardware with: 2.2.6.1 2x8 Deck Boards 2.2.6.2 4x4 Horizontal Timbers 2.2.6.3 6x6 Vertical Post Timbers 2.2.7 Return each repaired and refurbished skid dock to its original site.
