Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Livermore, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel.
General work description: The work to be done generally consists of replacing a timber bridge with a reinforced concrete bridge with concrete pile foundations and two soldier pile retaining walls. Work includes constructing temporary stream diversion system, detour road, rock slope protection, drainage systems, guard railing, grading and paving. Construction will occur over one season. Bidders are required to subcontract a minimum of 23% of their bid. The contractor must possess a valid Class A License at the time the contract is awarded and be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. Bids must cover the entire project; neither partial nor contingent bids will be considered. The successful bidder must furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. The Department will retain 5 percent of the contract price until final completion and acceptance. Securities may be substituted for monies withheld to ensure performance. The general prevailing rate of wages applies. A project labor agreement with the Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades Council is required if the contract amount equals or exceeds $1,000,000, and all subcontractors must sign the agreement. Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements apply. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids or portions of bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. Liquidated damages apply per the provided table.
