As of April 28, 2026 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Sealed electronic bids will be received by the City of Minneapolis - Procurement for Event #4043 - Traffic Marking-1st Ave S. & Nicollet Ave. Complete project documents are available for electronic download. A pre-bid meeting will be held virtually. Procurement Department. Coordination of Construction: For the 1 st Ave S project: most of the street construction activities are complete. In 2026, asphalt pavement sealcoat and landscaping maintenance will be taking place. It is anticipated that asphalt pavement sealcoat will be taking place in late summer. The striping on the asphalt pavement is to begin after the seal coat is complete. The street is currently open to traffic. Most of the striping at Lake Street and south of Lake St have been completed prior to this contract. For the Nicollet Ave project: a portion of the concrete pavement has been installed in 2025. All of it has been installed except for a 100’ of concrete pavement south of the bridge over the Midtown greenway. It is anticipated that this remaining 100’ of concrete pavement will be installed in early fall 2026. The asphalt pavement, north of the bridge, will be installed in 2026 and sealcoat in summer 2027. The concrete bike facility and raised crosswalk along 29 th St W and Cecil will be installed in 2026. It is anticipated that Nicollet Ave will be open to traffic in late summer/early fall of 2026. Striping work on Nicollet Ave after Nicollet Ave opens to traffic will need to take place in off peak hours with approval from the Engineer. It is expected that the concrete pavement (except the 100’ south of the bridge) will receive permanent striping before Nicollet Ave opens to traffic and that the asphalt pavement will receive permanent striping after the sealcoat. Some, but not all, of the striping has been previously completed at Lake St prior to this contract. Questions due by: 2/18/2026
