The work consists essentially of the following items: demolition and removal of existing storm pipe, manholes, and structures; installation of new 60" storm pipe, inlets, and drainage structures; installation of flared end section and rip rap outfall; and tie-in of existing storm pipes to new infrastructure. The outlined features do not limit the contractor's responsibility to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and drawings. Bidders are instructed to inspect the site and inform themselves of all local conditions. Proposals must be submitted in duplicate, sealed, and deposited with the Horn Lake City Clerk by the designated time. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law, show a current Certificate of Responsibility, and submit a bid bond or certified check for 5% of their bid. The successful bidder must furnish payment and performance bonds, each for 100% of the contract amount. Contract time is 180 consecutive calendar days from the effective date in the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $750 per day for delays.
