The project involves providing improvements to an existing boat launch parking facility at Friends Landing campground. The work includes paving and striping the parking lot area, installation of an ADA accessible boarding ramp, an automated pay station, an information kiosk, and various lighting improvements. The improvements aim to enhance the accessibility of the boat launch, as well as traffic flow and trailer parking. The scope of work consists of the removal of certain existing features, site excavation, grading with aggregates, installing underground utilities and relocation and addition of overhead utilities, ADA features, illumination systems, paving with HMA, trail restoration, traffic barrier, pavement markings, permanent signing, and other work as specified in the contract plans, contract provisions, and standard specifications. The contractor is required to furnish all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for a complete project. Bidders are instructed that award will consider the lowest total base bid price, the qualifications and experience of the bidder, and the Port’s budget capability. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond equal to five percent of the amount of the bid proposal. Failure to enter into a contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond will result in forfeiture of the bid deposit.
