Renovation of a fire / police facility in Doral, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
Scope of Work shall include, but not be limited to: Provide all labor, equipment and materials at MIA Northside Fire Station 59 to: replace existing lockers, repaint and refinish as required existing floor, walls, and ceilings; replace existing ventilation system with proposed fresh air intake and exhaust system and enclosures; install surface mounted LED light fixtures controlled by motion sensors; expand room eliminating the electrical drinking fountains alcove and CMU walls and relocate equipment to the support space. All lockers to include doors. Contractor to provide nameplates. MDFR Personnel will provide their own locks. The contractor will need to ensure the lockers are made with the ability to be locked. Exposed painted CMU is acceptable. However, Contractor will be responsible to repair & patch CMU encountered upon locker removal. The Station Officer will assist in the designation of where to temporarily relocate the lockers and will do so once the work begins. Using a temporary base and temporarily attaching the existing lockers to the wall to avoid tip-over is acceptable. The Contractor shall restore the existing surfaces (patch and paint) to its original conditions once the existing lockers are disposed. A 1-hour fire rated wall is required at this location. This can be achieved utilizing the provided detail in the plans or refer to attached UL detail. The new GIV goes up to the roof from room 111 Watch Office. This is necessary to stay a minimum of 10 away from the exhaust fan serving Room 110. Only low leakage backdraft dampers are needed for the OA system for FS-59. Outlets that will be obstructed by the new lockers shall be removed and the circuits properly terminated with a cover plate applied in accordance with code requirements. Locker heights were provided by Specs from Geargrid. In the case that the only options are 72 or 84 height, GC to proceed with 72 height option. Contractors must agree to perform all work in accordance with the scopes of work established by MDAD, the MCC 7360 contracts terms and conditions, all required permits and inspections and all applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. Any minor variation necessary to complete the intended work shall be considered incidental and not warrant additional compensation. Any major variation necessary to complete the intended work will be additional work and will be compensated through a contingency allowance account, dedicated allowance account, or change order. Such major variation shall be completed without delay. Contractor shall use an adequate number of qualified workers who are thoroughly trained in the techniques required to properly complete the work specified. Contractor will own or have access to the equipment necessary and to meet all safety, insurance, and technical requirements of the owner and regulating authorities. The grand total bid price shall be reflected on the RPQ Bid Form Attachment 5A. Selected Contractors must possess a valid, current, and active State of Florida and/or Miami-Dade County contractors license consistent with their respective trade and the scope of work. Prospective bidders shall submit a Bid Bond at the time of Bid submission. The Performance & Payment bond must be submitted, using the contract specified form, within ten working days from receipt of the Recommendation for Award. The P&P bond shall be required for the full contract amount. Compliance with the Aviation Department's Environmental Policy, ISO 14000 certification and Commissioning requirements will be enforced. The awarded contractor is responsible for the safety and security of the job site. Contractors shall provide an established safety program and implementation policy, subject to MDAD approval. Liquidated damages will apply for failure to complete the work within the time specified for Substantial Completion. The selected contractor and their employees must comply with all MDAD security requirements. The awarded contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all utility clearances and coordinating all utility shutdowns before initiating any work. Damage to existing equipment, utilities, MDAD or its business partners' property will be repaired and/or replaced at the contractor's expense. All requests for information (RFIs) shall be directed in writing to the MDAD project manager and must comply with applicable administrative orders. Contractors must hold a valid General Contractor License and have a minimum of 5 years experience performing work in their specific trade, and submit proof of experience for a minimum of one year. Bids for this project must reflect a lump sum amount, indicated on the MCC-7360 Attachment 5A Bid Form. Bidders are responsible for all costs related to permitting, preparation of required shop drawings, special inspections, preparation of as-built drawings, close-out documentation and/or any engineering certificates required. Bid Documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope including: Bid price using Bid Form-Attachment 5A, fully executed Affirmation of Vendor Affidavits, and all applicable Addenda documents issued during the bidding phase. The deadline to submit RFIs is no later than five (5) working days before the bid opening date and time specified on the RPQ and Invitation to Bid.
