The City of Santa Cruz, California, invites sealed bids for the installation of an enclosed low-nitrogen oxide (NOx) flare to serve as the backup landfill gas collection and destruction device for the existing onsite landfill gas collection system and Landfill Gas to Energy (LFGTE) Plant at the Santa Cruz Resource Recovery Facility, 605 Dimeo Lane. The project includes construction of an approximately 3,600-square-foot flare station with equipment (enclosed flare stack, air compressor, three blowers, condensate management system, and equipment control panel), installation on two concrete pads, construction of a three-foot-tall northern concrete retaining wall, unloading and installation of low NOx flare station equipment, installation of about 200 linear feet of landfill gas header pipe to connect to the existing LFGTE Plant, tying into air and condensate management pipelines, trenching and installing new electrical feed, wiring, conduits, and associated components, and installation of a 6-foot-high chain link fence and access gates around the station. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly endorsed with the Project Name and Number in accordance with the instructions in the solicitation.
