This project on KTA (I-335) and (I-470) in Shawnee County, MM 167.8 to MM 183.8, is for pavement patching, the application of Ultrathin Bonded Asphalt Surface (UBAS) (Type A) on the northbound and southbound mainline lanes, and the application of Haydite chip seal on the shoulders. This project includes the South Topeka Interchange at MM 177 and MM 182. Milling is required for patching, in transition areas, and as shown on the plans. Bids will only be accepted by Contractors that are pre-qualified by the Kansas Department of Transportation. Proposals must be submitted digitally on Bid Express, with all bid prices filled in and the bid form fully completed and executed. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid, payable to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and provide a performance bond if awarded the contract. The award of each contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Specifications of the Kansas Department of Transportation, edition of 2015, and will be based upon the summation of the products of the unit prices and the approximate quantities. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity therein, to determine which is the lowest responsible bid most suitable to the Authority.
