The purpose of this project is to install a new valve and remove a separate broken valve at a site near the North Water Treatment Plant's Terminal Storage Reservoir. At this location, a separate 36" butterfly valve will be replaced by a new 36" butterfly valve that will be remotely actuated. Approximately 20 linear feet of 36" SCRC pipe will need to be removed and replaced with a spool piece or pipe section. The 36" concrete cylinder pipe will need a line stop to be dropped on the pipeline for the valving work to be done. B. Major work items are: 1) Perform 1 line stop on a 36" diameter inlet/outlet concrete cylinder pipe to temporarily shut off water flowing into and out of this pipe while coordinating with City of Lubbock staff. 2) Remove butterfly valve attached to a 36" SCRC pipe. This valve will be removed and includes the replacement of pipe or install of spool. 3) Install new vault, valve, actuator, and necessary supporting electrical equipment and conduit. C. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required for the complete construction of the work as shown on the drawings and specified herein. D. All work shall be performed in accordance with the most recent City of Lubbock Design Standards for Water and Sanitary Sewer construction.
