The proposed work includes the reconstruction of Runway 18/36 (2,000' x 60'). Bidders are responsible for carefully examining the site of the proposed work, the proposal, plans, general provisions, technical specifications, contract forms, and all requirements of the project. Bidders must submit evidence of qualification meeting the requirements of General Contract Provisions 20-02, and MDOT prequalification at the time of bidding is an acceptable form of evidence. If the prime bidder is not prequalified in the necessary Designated Item classifications, a prequalified subcontractor must be designated prior to the contract award. There is a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of 0.00% for this project. A bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price must accompany each bid, binding the bidder for ninety (90) days after notification of award. If the selected contractor fails to provide the required materials and/or execute the contract within fifteen (15) calendar days after being furnished with the necessary contract and bond forms, the proposal guaranty will be forfeited to the Sponsor. The Wexford County Airport Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder determined to be in the best interest of the Authority. The project includes the reconstruction of the runway by furnishing, placing and grading topsoil to to the proposed elevations. Some grading of existing soil will also be required. The existing plastic runway markers will be removed and reinstalled.
