Renovation of a library in Holly Springs, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
https://www.wake.gov/departments-government/facilities-design-construction/facilities-design-construction-projects/planned-projects The Holly Springs Community Library first opened in 2006 and shares the building with the town's cultural center, which serves the Holly Springs community in southwest Wake County. This project will update flooring, interiors, and furniture, and create a dedicated program space. This project is a planned renovation of the library and shared building lobby, including finish updates, equipment replacement, and some space reconfiguration to enhance the library patron experience and improve staff workflow. The project also includes a building roof replacement. Wake County owns the building and operates the library. The Town of Holly Springs leases and operates the cultural center, which will remain open throughout the library and lobby renovation project. The library will close in late April 2026 in preparation for the renovation, and plans to reopen end of year 2026. Building Information Building Area: 19,939 SF (entire building); 6,300 SF (library only). Collection Size: 36,771 Programs Offered: Ch ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Provide labor, material, and equipment for the construction of the Holly Springs Community Library Renovation at 300 W Ballentine St, Holly Springs, NC 27540. Each proposal must include a cash deposit, certified check, or Bid Bond equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal as security. The deposit will be retained as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. Bidders are responsible for complying with the Wake County Minority Business Enterprise Program as outlined in Section 00 73 39 of the Project Manual. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the scheduled closing time for bids. The work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Major renovation to existing Library including removal of existing exterior doors and replacing or infilling and providing an opening for a new exterior door. 2. During the month of August, the Owner will be replacing the Library's HVAC system (under a separate contract and not Work of this Contract). The Contractor will be required to rent, arrange delivery, set-up, provide operation support as necessary, and arrange the return of air-cooled spot coolers for temporary cooling for the unoccupied Library and occupied Lobby and Restrooms. A lump sum allowance as specified in Secton 01 21 00 Allowances has been established for these coolers
