The objective of the project is to install a new 8-inch pipe to replace the existing cast-iron pipeline. The work under this contract includes the installation of new 8-inch ductile iron pipes on 21st Street, 20th Street, 22nd Street, Hill Street, and various side streets in San Francisco, California. The contract involves Contractor procurement of pipeline materials, which are to be installed within the project limits. Subcontracting opportunities may include, but are not limited to, trucking, hauling, shoring, pavement restoration, saw cutting, and traffic control. Bidders are required to comply with the Local Business Enterprise (LBE) subcontracting requirement of 15.00%, which can only be met with CMD-certified San Francisco Micro and Small-LBEs. All Bidders must submit documented Good Faith efforts with their Bids as directed on CMD Form 2B, except those who exceed the above-stated subcontracting requirement(s) by at least 35%. Failure to comply with Chapter 14B requirements may result in a Bid being deemed non-responsive and ineligible for Contract award. Bidders are required to have a Class "A" California Contractors License, and each listed subcontractor must possess appropriate active licenses for the work they will be performing. Bidders must also pass the Safety Prequalification prior to SFPUC considering their bid submission complete.
