Renovation of a retail development in Wapello, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a retail development.
The project consists of renovation to 8 existing Downtown Wapello storefront buildings. The work generally includes selective demolition, door, window, and wall repair and replacement, roof replacement, painting, masonry renovation such as brick replacement, repointing, repair, and work associated with these items. All work is described in the construction documents and must comply with the plans and specifications prepared by Martin Gardner Architecture PC., Marion, Iowa. Bidders must submit bids using the forms provided in the specifications, including the "Form of Proposal for General Construction Unit Prices," "Intent to Comply with Section 3 Requirements," and "Allowance Form" at the time bids are due. Additional forms, such as "Form of Proposal Unit Prices Individual Buildings," "Request for Contractor Eligibility," "State of Iowa and Federal Program Language," and "Supplemental Federal Requirements and Worker Notifications" must be submitted electronically within 3 business days of the bid opening by the apparent lowest qualified bidder. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid is required. The successful bidder must furnish a Contractor's Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
