Renovation of a laboratory facility in Forest Park, Georgia. Working plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
Primary facilities include administration areas, laboratory space, a facility support area, a covered hardstand mobile laboratory area, organizational vehicle parking, Intrusion Detection System installation, a mass notification system, and Utility Monitoring and Control System connections. Supporting facilities include site development, utilities, a limited backup power source and associated connections, lighting, paving, parking, walks, curbs and gutters, storm drainage, information systems, landscaping, and signage. Heating and air conditioning will be provided by a self-contained system. Building information systems are unique and not included in the unit cost of the building. Measures in accordance with Department of Defense Minimum Antiterrorism for Buildings standards, along with enhanced AT/FP features, will be incorporated. Comprehensive building and furnishings-related interior design services are required. Access for individuals with disabilities will be provided. Cyber security measures and sustainability/energy measures will be incorporated. Facilities will be designed for a minimum 40-year service life in accordance with UFC 1-200-02, including energy efficiency, building envelope performance, and integrated building systems requirements. Air conditioning is estimated at 236 tons. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000.
