Remove and Replace Asphalt Walkway at Chelsea High School Deadline for Written Inquiries 02/26/2026 Any change to this submission date and/or time will be made by a notice sent electronically to all Responders. The Responder is responsible for confirming receipt of written inquiries with Ledia Koco, Chief Procurement Officer, and City of Chelsea at lkoco@chelseama.gov. Minority or Woman Business Enterprise Participation In accordance with the Minority Business Enterprise Plan for the City of Chelsea, all qualified Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (MBE) or Woman-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) are strongly encouraged to submit bids in response to this Invitation for Bids. For the purpose of this IFB, the term MBE or WBE shall mean a vendor who is certified as a minority business enterprise by the State Office of Minority and Women-Owned Business Assistance (SOMWBA), and who is certified at the time the vendor's bid is submitted. All minority owned businesses are encouraged to apply for SOMWBA certification. For further information on SOMWBA qualifications or access to SOMWBA vendor lists, contact the Supplier Diversity Office, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Operational Services Division at 617-720-3300. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Scope of Work Contractor shall supply materials and labor to perform the following: The work includes, but is not limited to, remove & replace asphalt walkway estimated at 3,500 sq. ft. 1. Remove up to 3" of existing asphalt and dispose of at a legal dumping facility. 2. Grade and compact the area for proper derange. 3. Apply tack coat to vertical surfaces of existing asphalt before paving. 4. Install an average 1 ½ inch binder course of bituminous concrete (hot mix asphalt). 5. Compact and roll to a smooth finish. 6. Install an average 1 ½ inch top course of bituminous concrete (hot mix asphalt). 7. Compact and roll to a smooth finish. 8. Total cost to include all labor, all material, all tools, all equipment and disposal fees 9. The project must be completed before August 15, 2026 or other date as agreed to by the Assistant Director of Facilities Management for the Chelsea School Department.
