The City of Maple Ridge (the City) wishes to identify through this Request for Qualifications a list of paving contractors who are experienced with and qualified in performing asphalt resurfacing services on Municipal roadways. The City is seeking to establish a list of prequalified contractors who may be invited to participate in a subsequent selective tendering process for the City’s annual asphalt resurfacing program and additional ‘as and when requested’ paving work for a three year period. Only those prequalified firms will be invited to compete in any subsequent select tendering process for the services described in this Request for Qualifications. The City is interested in hearing from Contractors who can demonstrate they have extensive experience with paving municipal roadways, can consistently provide quality paving and workmanship in a safe manner, while meeting schedules, can work independently with minimal supervision from the City and can cooperate with the City and the general public. Annual asphalt resurfacing works typically includes but is not limited to, the provision of all labour, materials, equipment, traffic control and supervision necessary to carry out the preparation, supply and placement of asphaltic concrete roadways. Services to include grinding, sweeping, placement and reclamation, in various locations specified by the City, utilizing a unit price contract, in accordance with the Master Municipal Construction Document (MMCD) Platinum Edition. Work is anticipated to be completed between April and December. The City may have multiple road paving requirements at various locations, times or simultaneously, and will expect the successful Contractor to have sufficient labour, material, equipment and resources available to meet the City’s volume, and varied work schedule.
