Site improvements to Foley High School for the Baldwin County Board of Education. All General Contractors bidding on this project are required to visit the site and examine all existing conditions prior to submitting their proposal. All Bidders shall have general liability and workman's compensation insurance. The project shall be bid excluding taxes. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. No bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing for receipt of bids for a period of ninety (90) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. A certified check or Bid Bond payable to Baldwin County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00 must accompany the bidder's sealed proposal. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds will be required at the signing of the Contract. Completion time, project supervision, and other scope details are in the Project Manual. Only documents published by the Architect are endorsed for bidding. All RFIs and RFAs regarding the bid documents must be sent via email as detailed in the project manual on the specified forms. The Architect will not accept inquiries via telephone or fax. Pre-qualification requirements: All potential General Contractors who desire to bid shall contact the Architect to receive the criteria for pre-qualification (AIA Document A305 and Questionnaire). All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding. All bidders shall display their current license number on the outside of their sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. General liability and workman's compensation insurance are required. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond as specified above. Performance and payment bonds are required at contract signing. Should any bidder observe any ambiguity, discrepancy, omission, or error in the drawings and specifications, or in any other bid document, or be in doubt as to the intention and meaning of these documents, the bidder should immediately report such to the Architect and request clarification.
