Sealed bids (one original) will be received by the Lafayette Parish School System Purchasing Department and electronic bids at www.centerlinebidconnect.com for the construction of the LHS Softball and Baseball Complex at 600 Foreman Drive, Lafayette, Louisiana. The work under this contract shall be completed within 300 consecutive calendar days of the commencement specified in the Contract or Notice to Proceed. The contract is subject to liquidated damages of $850.00 per consecutive calendar day for late completion. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, or Bid Bond on the Owner’s form, payable to the Lafayette Parish School System, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposed Base Bid plus all Alternates. Electronic bids should be uploaded to the online platform by the deadline. A Bid Bond is required as per the contract documents and must be uploaded with other required Bid Documents. If a scanned copy of the Bid Bond is uploaded, the original notarized bond must be produced on demand. The successful Bidder is required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100% of the Contract amount, on forms provided by the School Board and in accordance with Louisiana law. Bids will only be accepted from contractors licensed by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors for the classification of Building Construction. No bid may be withdrawn for 45 days after receipt, except under Louisiana statutes. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. Minority business enterprises are strongly encouraged to participate in all contracts and procurements. All contractors and suppliers are encouraged to utilize minority businesses in the purchase or subcontracting of materials, supplies, and services when available. Bidders and Sub-bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents shall make a written request which shall reach the Architect at least seven (7) days prior to the date for receipt of Bids.
