Benjamin Wax Community Play Area The project involves the construction of the Benjamin Wax Community Play Area in Amory, MS. The awarded grant will fund playground equipment, benches, litter receptacles, borders, safety surfacing, matts, construction of a pavilion, installation of sewer, water, and electrical infrastructure, two basketball courts, and a portion of beautification for the area including irrigation control and signs. The total amount allocated for playground construction is approximately $240,000, with the maximum area provided for the build being up to 80' by 90'. Future bids will be sought for basketball court restoration and creation, shade structures, benches, bike racks, trash receptacles, and a pavilion area with tables. Bids will be opened and taken under advisement in the City Hall board room. This bid opening is for pricing detailed by the below categories: o A large playground equipment structure for ages 5-12 (minimum 2 slides) with custom panther elements throughout the structure that are singular to Amory, Amory Panthers, etc. The color of the structure should match "Panther Park" by having custom paint specific to Amory Panther colors (Gold/Black). o A structure for ages 2-5 (minimum 1 slide) with panels devoted to art, music, history, culture (learning tools)- custom paint specific to Amory Panther colors. o A Zip Line type play area; o Free standing play areas that include spinner functions (minimum 1); and o Single post swings with belted or harness seats, molded bucket seat or ADA/wheelchair integrated swing, toddler seats; and o Free standing play customized include Amory Panther art on a rider; and o Sensory play devices (minimum 3 ages 5-12 and 3 ages younger); and o Educational aspects (minimum 3)- must use bright colors and educational facts about things related to Amory; and Welcome Sign with company logo and name; and o Boarders with stakes; and o Access wedge; and o EWF (engineered wood fiber or other form of mulch for safety surface that meets ADA standards and all ASTM and IPEMA standards); and o Wear matts for spinners and slides; and o Freight; and o Installation (with detailed information)
