The project consists of slope stabilization, construction of earthen berms, slope grading, and construction of a rip rap ditch. All work shall be carried out in accordance with the Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction of the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration. Bids shall be submitted in duplicate on the provided bid forms and must be accompanied by Bid Security, in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond, equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid; such security shall be forfeited as liquidated damages, not as a penalty, by any bidder who fails to fulfill the bid terms, execute the contract, or furnish the required performance bond within the specified time. The entire project must be completed within 30 calendar days and the liquidated damages will be $200 per consecutive calendar day past the approved completion date. Doc note: If the bid documents shall be mailed, an additional $10.00 is required for covering the mailing charges. Bids will be mailed through first class mail on the second working day after receiving the payment.
