The work includes blasting and recoating of the 200,000 gallon Elevated Storage Tank #2 interior and exterior surfaces, applying skid proof coating on ladder rungs, installing a frost free vent system, making improvements to other tank appurtenances, and performing other incidental items and work as described in the project manual or reasonably inferable from it. An alternate also includes water blasting and recoating the exterior of Elevated Storage Tank #3, spot repairs of the interior wet and dry surfaces, modifying the vent stack to meet the 24" requirement, installing a duckbill valve on the end of the overflow pipe, improvements to other tank appurtenances, and other related work described in the project manual or reasonably inferable from it. Bid packages can be obtained for a fee. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Bidders must comply with certain legal requirements, including submitting a sworn affidavit affirming enrollment in a federal work authorization program and compliance with immigration laws. Compliance with the President's Executive Order Number 11246 and applicable wage rates is required. Upon contract signing, contractors and any subcontractors must provide a ten-hour OSHA construction safety program for their on-site employees. The contract will be awarded to the most responsive, responsible bidder submitting the lowest bid, but the owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any irregularities in the best interest of the owner. Disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin.
