The City of Athens is seeking quotations for the rehabilitation of a Lamson 556 centrifugal blower located at the West Wastewater Treatment Plant. The selected vendor is responsible for on-site disassembly and collection of the unit, transporting the blower to their service center, performing the required maintenance, and returning the blower for reassembly. The scope includes: mobilization, removal, and transport (on-site disassembly, rigging, loading, transport to vendor’s facility with component protection); cleaning and initial inspection (external and internal cleaning/degreasing, impeller cleaning and dye-penetrant inspection, inspection of housing, shafts, impellers, seals, and bearing housings for wear, erosion, scoring, or corrosion, checking shaft straightness and runout, and inspecting keyways and threads); dimensional and tolerance verification (measuring and recording critical dimensions, comparing fits/clearances to OEM tolerances, identifying out-of-tolerance conditions, and submitting a report to the City); replacement of wear components (replacement of all bearings with OEM grade or better, all seals, O-rings, gaskets, bearing races, degraded fasteners, grease fittings, and hardware). Additional defect items found during the initial inspection must be reported with a repair proposal, including photos, measurements, recommended repairs, itemized parts and labor, machining descriptions, schedule impact, and any changes to warranty terms.
