The project consists of the renovation of an existing classroom to a STEAM lab, providing interior upgrades to 6 additional classrooms, providing interior upgrades to associated corridors, as well as any associated work regarding these areas as specified in the drawings. All bidders must use and complete all bid forms and must comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Bids are to be marked in a sealed envelope and delivered to Andrea Wasserman, Business Administrator at Montvale Board of Education, 47 Spring Valley Road, Montvale, NJ 07645, with the name of the project, "Memorial Elementary School STEAM lab &Classroom Renovations Project" plainly marked on the front of the envelope. Every bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00. All bidders and their subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. All bids must be accompanied by a Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act as to the Bidder and all subcontractors. This project is a school facilities project as defined in the Education Facilities Construction and Financing Act, N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-1 et seq. and may be funded in part with grant monies from the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA). All contractors and subcontractors engaged by the Board to work on this project shall agree to be bound by the terms of a Grant Agreement issued by the SDA, which, if applicable, will be available for inspection at the Board office during business hours. The Montvale Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any minor informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law if it is in the best interest of the Board of Education. The contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal resolution by the Montvale Board of Education. Question Deadline 02/25/2026 at 4:30 PM ET No oral interpretations will be made to any Bidder as to the meaning of the drawings and specifications. Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing and addressed and forwarded to the Architect's office. No inquiry received later than 4:30 p.m. ten business days prior to the date fixed for opening of bids will be given consideration.
