All bids must be accompanied by bid security in the amount of five percent (5.0%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, as described in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond according to the Instructions to Bidders. Bids will be accepted from contractors licensed for the classification of Building Construction. Bidders must comply with the relevant Louisiana statutes. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause. The work under this contract consists of repair and reconstruction of the Aquaculture Research Center that sustained significant fire, smoke and water damage on November 6, 2018. The 21,619 SF building, completed in 1991, includes office and research facilities. The scope includes repair or replacement of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, repair or replacement of windows, interior walls, millwork, floors and ceilings throughout the building. Laboratory facilities include 5,000 SF of dry labs and 9,000 SF of wet labs containing an array of large aquaria.
