Wastewater Treatment - This work may include, but is not limited to, biological process assistance; equipment sizing, selection, and procurement; system vulnerability and security; reclaimed water operation and optimization; building HVAC replacement and evaluation; and equipment condition assessment. Collection System- This work may include, but is not limited to, flow modeling, alignment profiling, sanitary sewer pump stations and force mains; gravity sewer systems, low pressure systems; pipe and manhole rehabilitation and/or replacement; and equipment condition assessment. Water System- This work may include, but is not limited to, water quality, groundwater susceptibility, capacity and/or operational analysis, well decommissioning, equipment sizing, storage and pumping facilities, irrigation systems, treatment systems, wellhead protection, well drilling, water rights, water marketing, system vulnerability and security, system acquisition evaluation, and rate studies. Programming -This work may include, but is not limited to, programmable logic controller (PLC) programming; human machine interface (HMI) screen creation or updating; remote terminal unit (RTU) programming; private cellular network setup and assistance; equipment/hardware setup and assistance; network design and troubleshooting; firewall setup and assistance; and assistance during equipment/system upgrading or replacement. Electrical - This work may include, but is not limited to, power system studies, pump station retrofits, and lighting renovation Structural- Work may include, but is not limited to, structural condition assessment of pump stations, manholes, buildings, and other wastewater structures; fall protection retrofits/upgrades; grating modifications; and seismic retrofits. Pierce County is seeking to hire multiple firms that are capable and qualified to provide engineering services to support sewer and water utility operations. Services anticipated include, but are not limited to, wastewater treatment, collection system, water treatment and distribution, programming, electrical, and structural. Some projects assigned under this contract may be funded with federal grants, and the consultant will be required to comply with grant requirements and provide information for stringent reporting requirements and deadlines. If federal funds are involved, the consultant may be required to sign applicable forms to be incorporated into an amendment or work assignment to the Service Agreement Contract. The scope covers support for the maintenance, upgrade, and expansion of wastewater and water systems, ensuring cost-effective, environmentally sound services to rate payers. Instructions to bidders include compliance with federal grant requirements when applicable, and the potential need to sign forms for projects with federal involvement.
