Project No. S0425, 25-040 Furnish all labor and materials, and perform all work required for the construction of a 200 MPH First Responder Hurricane Safe Room, supporting 77 occupants during a high wind event, meeting FEMA 361 (2021) and ICC 500 (2020) requirements, and all applicable ADA, Federal, State, and Local codes. The project consists of approximately 4,000 square feet, using ICF construction for the wall and roof framing, and includes a 125 KW dual fuel generator for backup. Bidders must provide all materials, equipment, labor, incidentals, overhead, and profit for the single-phase project. All bids must be submitted on the blank forms provided as part of the bid documents, enclosed in a sealed, opaque envelope, clearly identified as a "Sealed Bid" with the item name, bid number, City's name and address, and contractor's name and address. Each bid must be in a separate envelope, and bids made out in pencil will not be accepted. Failure to follow these instructions will result in rejection of the bid. Contractors must be properly qualified in accordance with Alabama state laws, and submit evidence of the appropriate licensing. Contractors must have, or obtain, a current business license with the City of Fairhope prior to commencing work. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty days after opening without the City's consent. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of the contract as it deems in its best interest.
