The work consists of furnishing labor, time, equipment, and travel necessary to provide materials testing services for Asphalt Density, Asphalt Cores, Crushed Base Compaction, Soil Compaction, and Concrete Strength and Structure. The testing includes projects for overlay, reconstruction, and new construction completed by City personnel. Concrete testing covers valley gutters, sidewalks, foundations, and new curb installations. The testing services will occur between March and December 2026. For Asphalt Testing, the contractor is required to make two site visits per day to establish roller patterns and verify work, spend up to one hour per visit, mark test locations, document testing, and enter data into a report. Asphalt Core Testing involves obtaining, labeling, refilling, transporting, and testing 4” cores, with proper documentation and safety measures. Concrete Testing includes Air, Slump, Unit Weight, Temperature, and Cylinder Tests, following ACI and ASTM standards, and providing all testing data with invoices. Crushed Base and Soil Compaction Tests use Calibrated Nuclear Density or Sand Cone methods. Standard Proctor Tests must be performed according to ASTMD698/AASHTO T99. The contractor's representative must wear proper PPE, provide liability insurance, and comply with notice requirements for scheduling testing. All costs, including travel and equipment, are to be included in unit bid prices. City staff will direct locations and frequencies for testing; proper documentation, sample handling, and adherence to specified standards are required for all types of tests.
